Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K.Rowling - When the knight bus crashes through the darkness and screeches to a halt in front of him, it´s the start of another far from ordinary year at Hogwarts for Harry Potter. Sirius Black, escaped mass-murderer and follower of Lord Voldemort, is on the run - and they say he is coming after Harry. In his first ever Divination class, Professor Trelawney sees an omen of death in Harry´s tea leaves...But perhaps most terrifying of all are the dementors patrolling the school grounds, with their soul-sucking kiss...
I rated it 5/5 stars
To start off, this is my favourite book of the series so I have A LOT to talk about. BEWARE...the spoilers.
Harry getting his birthday presents was the sweetest scene ever. I love the knight bus in general, I find it very amusing. In this book, we see that they will bend the system's rules when someone(aka Harry) isn´t safe but when Dobby did magic and harry was punished for it, no one wanted to look more into the situation. How I wished I could roam through Diagon-Alley! I feel so bad that Ginny was also badly affected in the Hogwarts train disaster scene as Harry clearly was. I also feel bad for Lupin who woke up and the first thing he saw was a replica of James fainted and suffering because of the Dementors. Hagrid is just a pure, sweet man and MALFOY JUST HAD TO RUIN THINGS FOR HIM, DIDN´T HE? I really loved Lupin´s encounter with Peeves and both of their reactions. In this book, Sirius (my favourite character in this series) is portrayed as a villain until the big plot twist and I really enjoyed exploring his dark side. I felt so bad for Harry hearing what supposedly happened with Sirius and his parents. A lot of people say Hermione was annoying and I get how she could be portrayed like that but I viewed her as a very caring and protective friend, clearly risking her friendship with Harry to protect him. Lupin´s reaction to Harry telling him he heard James last moment :(( I haven´t mentioned it on my other two book reviews but Lee Jordan is the BEST QUIDDITCH COMMENTATOR OF ALL TIME!! I´m just imagining students betting on games with each other as Percy and Penelope did. Snape KNEW who the Marauders map owners were, that is why he asked Lupin that Harry could have obtained it, directly from its owners. Hermione punching Malfoy is one of my favourite scenes in this book. Harry was right when he said that Buckbeak was flying away on his exam, literally realised this reading it this time around. Sirius was just a TOTAL DRAMA QUEEN and I AM SO HERE FOR IT AND I LOVE LOVE LOVEEE HIM!! Lupin is also one of my favourite characters in this series. At the end of chapter 18, we understand why Snape has this hatred for Sirius and James and Lupin and it´s understandable that he strongly dislikes Sirius after what he did to him. I NEED J.K. Rowling (or more recently referred to as the writer who shall not be named) to write a new book series based on the Marauders era).
