Harry Potter and the Philosopher´s Stone by J.K. Rowling - Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. Then, on Harry´s eleventh birthday, a great beetle-eyed giant of a man called Rubeus Hagrid bursts in with some astonishing news: Harry Potter is a wizard, and he has a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
I rate this book 5/5 stars (OBVIOUSLY)
I like that J.K. Rowling takes her time to show us this new world and to introduce us to these new characters. I really love Hagrid! He is just so sweet and caring and you can really tell he loves Harry. I like the evolution of the golden trio forming and I especially like Harry and Ron´s friendship in this book. Fred and George throwing snowballs repeatedly at the back of Quirrell´s head (a.k.a Voldemort, our big bad villain) were one of the funniest, best moments in this book. The Weasley twins in general honestly. In conclusion, I think this was a very good start in a series.
